TRAVEL AGENTS OF AMERICA
PLANS FOR THURSDAY, OCTOBER 4TH:
For those who can come to Washington for two days, both the day of the march and demonstrations on Friday, October 5th and on Thursday, October 4th, you are encouraged to make an appointment with your Congressman and both of your Senators on Thursday afternoon, to express in person your concerns about your business, agency, industry, and to present him or her with a copy of the proposed "Travel Agent Consumer Protection Act of 2001", explain its provisions and the reasons for each, ask for their support, and finally invite them to join you outside the Capitol Building on the West Front facing the National Mall in a rally in support of progressive changes that will actually help all three elements in the airline, travel agent, consumer equation in the long run. This is an excellent opportunity for you to interact with your own elected members of Congress, and in large numbers, this can have a very valuable impact on our overall effort. It's how our government works. Except, this time, we're working the system rather than paying someone else to do it for us, by far the most effective way to make things happen in Washington.
